Research Area
Tiny microscopic algae, present in all aquatic bodies, are responsible for almost 50% of photosynthetic activities on the planet Earth, are called Phytoplankton. These tiny players fuel the entire marine food chain, hence any changes in their community structure will reflect/interlinked to higher level in the ecosystem. So, to understand the biological response of any marine ecosystem, the study of phytoplankton community structure would be the fundamental step. Currently, I am trying to understand the community variations in the Indian sector of Southern Ocean.
